O-Life Dental is pleased to welcome Dr. Vivian Roknian as its lead doctor and clinical director! Dr. Roknian's stellar technical capabilities along with her broad background in General Dental and Surgical procedures makes us very different from other practices in the area as it allows O-Life Dental to provide more of your dental and surgical needs under one roof.
For years, Dr. Roknian has taken pride in caring for all the dental needs of her patients, their families and their friends. However, she is equally gratified working with patients who would like an easy and painless, fresh new look to their faces and their teeth.
Dr. Roknian attended UCLA as an undergraduate, where she completed her degree in Psychobiology and received honors in addressing Dental Phobias. Dedicating her life to education, Dr. Roknian received the Presidential Award for Academic Excellence from President Clinton. Dr. Roknian then went on to graduate from the Temple University School of Dentistry, finishing among the top in her class in Oral Surgery, with a special interest in facial trauma and reconstruction.
Additionally, Dr. Roknian received her certification in both Oral and IV Sedation from DOCS, sponsored by the Duquesne University School of Pharmacy. She also served on faculty at the USC School of Dentistry helping teach Crown and Bridge courses in the Department of Restorative Dentistry. Dr. Roknian trained under world-reknown Dr. Sargon Lazarof, inventor of the Sargon Implant System. In March of 2014, Dr. Roknian earned the last of her credentials to qualify for a Fellowship from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. The official certificate will be presented to her in Chicago this August. Aside from these credentials, she is also a graduate of the Surgical program in the Misch International Implant Institute. She enjoys staying current in the ever-changing field of dentistry and dedicates a substantial number of hours each year to continuing education.
Volunteering is one of Dr. Roknian’s hobbies. She has volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, Project Angel Food, AIDS Walk, Revlon Walk for a Cure, Locks of Love, the Ronald MacDonald House, the American Cancer Society's Race for a Cure, and Community Volunteers in Medicine - a program providing services to special needs patients, including immunocompromised and cancer patients. As someone with friends and family who are cancer survivors, she has a keen understanding of the needs, challenges and fears of cancer patients. Originally from Los Angeles, Dr. Roknian has settled in Philadelphia, where she resides with her husband, Edward. If you have any questions for Dr. Roknian, you are welcome to email her at firstname.lastname@example.org .
